Arts, Culture and Interfaith Understanding

The Foundations have extended financial support to a number of activities, among these have included:

  • United Kingdom: Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple and Community Centre, Nehru Art Gallery of Indian Art at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Lord Swaminarayan Temple, the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), the Women’s India Association and the Sindhi Association UK.
  • United States: The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, the Asia Society and the Peter Brook’s Mahabharata
  • Theorama: In 1994 Foundation facilitated in commissioning the legendary Indian painter, MF Hussain to create a series of paintings titled ‘Theorama’ on the world’s faiths. Two paintings from the series were exhibited at the United Nations headquarters in October 1995 on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. In 1999 Britain’s Prime Minister, Tony Blair adopted the Theorama series as his own pledge for a better and more peaceful world in the new millennium.
  • ISKCON Hinduja Glory of India Vedic Culture Centre, New Delhi: A state of the art multimedia experience-exhibition on Indian Vedic culture.
