This is the brandname of India’s largest and the world 10th largest Cable TV service provider owned by IndusInd Media and Communications Ltd. IMCL is India’s largest integrated Multi System Broadband Operator which owns a 1000 kilometre communications web of fibre optics and cable across 11 cities.

Incablenet delivers over 100 TV programmes over this cable backbone while its sister service In2cable delivers broadband internet services on a 24/7 basis across nine cities .

Launched in 1995, IMC pioneered the concept of multi-system operation through franchise arrangements with small local area cable operators. IMC provides services to its customers with the help of centralized headends that service an entire city (for example Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, etc).

IN CableNet has the distinction of offering quality services including the highest number of channels, hi-speed Internet over cable, voice over Internet protocol and other value added offerings. IN CableNet has dominant networks in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Indore, Nagpur, Agra and Nasik.

It has joined hands with some of the world’s leading technology companies like Intel, Nagra, Tandberg, Motorola, SAP etc. Today, IMC is India’s first MSO to transmit channels through Fibre Optic Cables. It is also in the state of readiness to deliver value added services like CAS, VOD, PPV etc.

“Incablenet” is today switching over to digital delivery of 150 TV channels.The digital signal will be routed through “Indigital” Set Top Boxes which will in future enable even old TV sets to receive up to 500 channels of DVD quality pictures.


In Network Entertainment Limited (INEL)

In Network Entertainment Limited is a one-stop shop for film and TV content production, aggregation , distribution and finance.

Based in Mumbai, the hub of the entertainment industry, INEL runs three TV channels, finances films and operates, through its subsidiary, the country’s largest cable distribution network .

On the TV front INEL operates a Hindi movie channel CVO, a city-centric news channel In Mumbai and an on-air shopping channel Shop 24/7.

CVO, with a viewership base of over six million households, showcases the latest Bollywood movies and owns a bountiful archive of over 2000 titles.

In Mumbai specializes in city news, events and happenings. It broadcasts 28 news bulletins a day in five different languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu making it the only multi-language channel in the country. In Mumbai truly reflects Mumbai’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

On the movie front INEL and its predecessor companies have been associated with the biggest Bollywood banners since the 1950s starting with international distribution rights of Raj Kapoor’s blockbuster. More recently INEL financed the Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini family saga Baghbaan and Sonny Deol’s Bhagat Singh. INEL provides a full range of services including funding, production, distribution and exhibition.

Looking to the future INEL plans to:
  • Expand film financing and production through strategic tie ups with large reputed banners
  • Act as a content aggregator for its media divisions
  • Upgrade the technology, look and feel of CVO channel
  • Offer value added services like Pay-per-view through a network of set-top-boxes installed by its subsidiary IMC.

In2Cable ( India ) Limited

The next generation of Internet will be broadband driven. For a large number of cities in India, the broadband era is being ushered in by In2cable, a nation-wide licencee (ISP) providing internet services over IMC’s existing cable network. In2Cable is progressively offering digital television, data, entertainment, games, video-conferencing and Internet telephony.

Broadband Internet access over IMC’s cable network is already available in eight cities viz. Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Indore, Baroda and Belgaum. The high-speed, quality Internet service available 24 hours a day will soon supplemented by value added services like VoIP, VPN, LAN-based broadband internet, DNS hosting and e-mail.

In conjunction with IMC the company hopes to expand its Internet service subscriber base to one million customers in 49 cities. In2cable is a wholly owned subsidiary of HTMT.
