The Hinduja Foundation, a public charitable trust established in Mumbai, was born of the life-long conviction of late Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, the founder of the Hinduja Group, that philanthropy is a sacred social responsibility of all enterprise.  The Foundation values quality healthcare for all without discrimination, a cherished ideal of late P. D. Hinduja. In 1951 he established an outdoor clinic in Mumbai which evolved into the P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre run by the National Health & Education Society.  The earliest structured philanthropic work of Late P D Hinduja began in 1944 with the establishment of a charitable trust for education.  Be it carefully planned long term welfare measures or swift help in times of crises, Hinduja Foundation has done its bit to bring smiles back to helpless faces. Support to disease eradication measures, reconstruction of housing for the quake and cyclone affected, provision of drinking water to remote Indian villages are some of Foundation’s notable projects in this area. >> |
 Until recently, Indian Sports were plagued with severe resource crunch, seriously compromising prospects of even the most promising of Indian sporting talent. From 1986 to 2000, the Foundation ran some special schemes under which deserving Indian sportspersons were trained to excel at international events. These schemes brought in rich rewards.>> |
