Commercial vehicles manufacturer Ashok Leyland Ltd today reported a net profit of Rs 133.45 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, whereas the same was at Rs 142.76 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2004-05.
Total income stood at Rs 1,745.83 crore for the fourth quarter where as the same was at Rs 1,492.67 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The results for the current year are not comparable with the figures for the previous year as they include operations of Ductron Castings Unit, Hyderabad, which was sold off as going concern to Ennore Foundries Ltd, a fellow subsidiary, with effect from April 01, 2005, it added.
The board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.2 on shares of Rs 1 each (120 per cent) on the equity shares of the company for the year 2005-06.
For the year ended March 31, 2006, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 327.32 crore where as the same was at Rs 271.41 crore for 2004-05.
Total income is Rs 5,280.63 crore for 2005-06 whereas the same was at Rs 4,235.65 crore in 2004-05
