Hinduja Foundation and Cherie Blair Foundation entered into a strategic alliance to promote women entrepreneurship and to forge relations among women industrialists in developed and developing countries.
The strategic alliance was formed at a function organised by Hindujas in honour of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie Blair on Saturday.
Top industrialists and lawyers attended the function which coincided with the 73rd birthday of the NRI industrialist and eldest of Hinduja brothers Srichand. Among those who attended the gathering were Sashi Ruia of Essar, Nikhil Meswani, Adi Godrej, Venugopal Dhoot of Videocon, Senior Counsel Harish Salve, Sishir and Shekar Bajaj.
The alliance is aimed at promoting women entrepreneurship besides forging relations among women industrialists in developed and developing countries.
The Hindujas played a crucial role in championing India's cause when sanctions were imposed by the advanced countries after the Pokhran Nuclear test in 1998 during the NDA government.
