The most visible presence the brand has is through its ever-growing number of Gulf branded petrol stations. The Gulf brand and the Gulf racing colours go hand in hand with motor racing. The light blue and orange racing colours of the Gulf brand that are loved by motorsport enthusiasts the world over, celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2017. Gulf is synonymous with sports and its sponsorship activities further demonstrate the quality, performance and power of the products, delivering results in the greatest tests of endurance.
Gulf has many famous motor racing victories to its name from all corners of the world. In 2008, Gulf first sponsored the Aston Martin Racing team. The team, that year (2008) secured the GT1 Category at the Le Mans 24 Hours race, 40 years after Gulf's first outright win. The team won the 2009 Le Mans Series for both the drivers and the team. In 2011, at the Laguna Seca round of the American Le Mans series, Gulf and Aston Martin Racing returned to winning ways, running almost faultlessly enroute to victory. The car took a podium place at the final round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, the ‘Petit Le Mans’. In 2013, the season saw Aston Martin Racing continue in its winning ways in the World Endurance Championship, in both the GTE Pro and GTE Categories.
Gulf is proud to be an Official Partner of the world's number 1 football team, Manchester United. This is a ground-breaking partnership initiative for the sport, in what is an initial three and a half year deal with the most famous of English Premier League Clubs.
Gulf has two partner teams in the World Superbike Championship series, the first with the Milwaukee Aprilia team and the second with the Althea BMW team. Gulf also sponsors Gulf Racing, competing in the World Endurance Championships in the Porsche 911 RSR.
Gulf Oil Marine's plans include a continued focus on the Far East markets for additional opportunities and coverage, together with further expansion in the Middle East and onwards into Africa. The aim is for Gulf Oil Marine to be firmly established in the top ten lubricant brands globally, by the end of 2020.
